Thousand Trails Cottonwood AZ 2-26-09 3-19-09

Its been awhile since I’ve written!! I just spent 3 fun weeks at the Verde Valley Thousand trail park. Its a great park – one of my favorites since this is where I met Mom and Dad. I was adopted just about a year ago and brought back to my home on wheels at this park. I had to learn many things – how to walk on a leash and climb the steps.

The park has many places to walk – up the hill with Dad. Very rocky but I can run up and down the sandy areas and get dirty. Mom Dad and I also walk down to the river. There are many dogs to meet and greet.

I had to go for my annual checkup at the vet here in Cottonwood. I was soooo nervous. I had my shots and they took blood for a heartworm test. Everything is fine. Oh yea they even clipped my nails – I hate that and won’t let Mom do it.. I heard Mom say she was going to try to brush my teeth but it hasn’t happened yet.

North Ranch

2/13/09 – 2/23/09

Here I am at North Ranch. Its an Escapee Rainbow Park in Congress, AZ just north of Wickenburg.

Yea it has a dog park!!!. I got to play with several dogs. Its fenced in and has lots of room to run and balls to play with. Mom’s trying to teach me to fetch but I can’t be bothered. I just tease her –I pick up the ball and toss it.

I’m getting my corn and carrots every night. I have to be careful at night since they also have coyotes and I don’t want to be someones dinner. Dad takes his gun in case there are any problems he will protect me.

GYPSY JOURNAL RALLY

2/9/09 – 2/13/09

Just love Casa Grande. Now we are at the fairgrounds for the Gypsy Journal Rally. I get to meet more dog friends and Mom and Dad go to seminars.

Mom took a digital scrapbooking class and a digital photography class. Another hobby for her to try. Now do you think she will make me my own scrapbook??!!

They had a pizza party one night and on the last night we won a $50.00 gift card for Wal Mart. Wow what a great door prize.

Oh yea, if you don’t know what the Gyspay Journal is its a newspaper published by our great friends Nick and Terry Russel. I has cool stories and comments about where to travel and where not to travel. Good idea for places to go that are “off the beaten track”. Making good friends like this is one of the many perks of RVing. But they don’t have a dog but Nick really gives good ear rubs. mmmmm!

GOURD FESTIVAL

2/6/09

I cannot believe all the things they can do with gourds. Birdhouses, painting, sculpting, carving!!. Mom got a few and is going to try some stuff. I will post a picture when she makes something.

I stayed home and was in charge of the MH.

FUN IN CASA GRANDE TRAP RANGE

2/5/09 – 2/9/09

Back to Casa Grande again. The trap range is a great place to park. Lots of open desert with Saugaro catus. Plenty of places to wander and sniff. I don’t go far at night since I can hear Coyotes.

We have full hookups for only 12.00 a night. What a deal!!!

Christmas with John

Mom and Dad went to pick JW up at the Tucson airport on 12/22. I stayed home to take care of the house. JW is really cool he took me on walks and let me sleep with him. Lots of extra cuddles.

On Christmas they had dinner at the campground with other RVers.

What fun I loved watching the Christmas tree that Mom put up. We have Santa hats on the mirrors too!

Long trip to warm weather

We finally got to Azrizon. Very long trip. We drove everyday until Texas and then stayed 2 nights in a campground not far from Ft Worth. They even had a dog run area.

The next day we started driving and it was so windy we stopped very early. Just wasn’t safe. Drove 2 days to get across Texas. Did you know it was so BIG!!! When we got to Deming NM we stayed at the Dreamcatchers Escapee RV park to relax. Mom and Dad went to Los Palmas Mexico to get medicine and had lunch there. I didn’t go since I didn’t want to go across the border even though they walked across.

We then left for St David AZ and arrived the same day. We’ll be staying there for a week. John W will be flying in. I haven’t met my brother yet but I heard good things about him.

Fun with Eric

It’s certainly cold in New Jersey. Mom’s been running the heat so its warm inside but when I have to go pee its really really cold.

Eric came over Friday to help with Dad’s projects. They put up the new HDTV satellite dish. Eric is so good at that stuff. I would help too but I don’t have any thumbs. Mom said let the guys do it – they love it. They all went out to dinner to the diner and I had my regular old food. But its good.

Great news Eric is going to spend the night.

On Saturday morning I got lots of extra loving from Eric. Then Mom left the guys and told me I was in charge! She went to help Mom mom clean out her closet. Eric and Dad installed the new CB Radio and the new wiper blades. Good projects completed. The new satellite dish cannot find the satellites – now its time for Motosat to fix the software. I told Mom they behaved and worked hard (I bribe easily for dog cookies)

Then they took Eric home but he said he would see me tomorrow.

On Sunday I took a ride in the car. Not my favorite thing!! We picked up Mom mom and went to Barbara’s for dinner. Guess what! There was a surprise waiting for me. There were two other dogs there waiting for me to play. Hershey who is a chocolate lab and Harley who is a Black lab. I was afraid at first because they are sooo big and wanted to sniff and play. I held my ground with a few growls and snaps, then it was OK. We got along just fine. They shared their cookies with me. I went outside in Barbs back yard but it was too cold to play for very long. Really had a good time with the family — don’t tell Mom but Ralph fed me some people food – ham. It was soooo good. mmmmmmm.

We returned home and Mom and Dad said we are going bye-bye in the morning to warmer weather.

Fun in Maryland

Jim and Alta Haywood (Jean's brother)

What a fun trip from Orlando to Perry Hall Maryland. I got to stay two nights in “Camp” Walmart. Walmarts are fun because there are so many interesting smells!!!. Mom wouldn’t let me go into the store. boo Dad said that in the first stop there were 9 motorhome parked there overnight.

Mom Jim and Alta haywood

Got to Perry Hall Md. I was so excited to meet Uncle Jim and Aunt Alta, See Mom Mom again and meet my cousin Heidi the cat. We got along great—-even touched noses. I want a cat of my own but Dad says no. I got to wander around there big house. What fun. Uncle Jim got me corn so he could see me eat it. I just love corn on the cob.

When we left Maryland we took Mom mom with us so I had someone to ride with. I sat some of the time right next to her on the couch. Nice. We are parked at Belle Mead Farmers co-op. They have pile of mulch and lots of leave and places to play . Mom won’t let me roll in the smelly mulch — she is so mean.

They told me Eric is coming over later. Wow a kid to play with and sleep with.

Bath time

Wow it really can rain in sunny Florida!!! Rain and wind-daddy lowered the Big satellite dish.

Then you know what happened!!!!! Mommy said it was bath time. Lots and lots of water (I use the family shower-no outside for this girl.) nice foamy soap and it smelled good. Mommy made sure I didn’t get soap in my eyes. She washed all my parts including my tail and  ears!!. Daddy dried me off although I did a lot of shaking to help. I’m so fluffy. Mom told me I have to be clean and sweet smelling (I thought I always smell sweet) because we’re are going to meet family.

I’m so excited – I’m going to meet Uncle Jim and Aunt Alta at their house in Maryland. They have a cat too!! What fun. The best part is mom-mom is going to be there too and I already know her!

So today we are picking up and packing up. A Lot of activity. Mom washed everything she could get her hands on. I’m surprised she didn’t put me in the washer. Dad’s spending time outside putting things away and taking care of the tanks. We are going to get up early so we get a good start. (its a real effort for me and mom since we love to stay in bed in the morning).

Looking forward to my next adventure to Perry Hall, MD
